Range Environmental Consultants provided an emergency response to a diesel spill west of Toowoomba. Approximately 9,000L of diesel was released to ground from a rollover of a fuel truck and tanker trailer.

The emergency response included delineating the diesel impact, undertaking preliminary remediation and validation works and providing updates and guidance to relevant stakeholders, including United Petroleum, Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) and DES.

The approach to remediation and validation was developed and implemented promptly to ensure that the spread of the diesel spill was minimised. By minimising the footprint of the diesel impact, Range Environmental Consultants were able to reduce the risk to human health and the environment and also limit the costs associated with remediation.
